Attila Orbán: I Want to Give Opportunities to Those Who Want to Be the Best
Attila Orbán explains why he created the IHP57 League: a dedicated competition for every age group from U8 to U14, Friday game days, performance-based ice time, and personalized player development.
We are launching a dedicated league for every age group from U8 to U14, with approximately 40 games per age group per year. Game days will take place on Fridays, primarily at Budapest arenas - Kisstadion, Pesterzsébet, and Óbuda. Matches will consist of two or three twenty-minute periods with full ice time.
The first one or two sessions will be draft training days, from which we will form the teams. After that, the selection narrows - players who are not actively engaged from the start will find it harder to break into the group. For the top performers, we are planning an elite program: extra training sessions, higher-level opponents - including top Hungarian clubs and eventually international teams. Discussions with Hungarian and foreign partners are already underway, but we will not rush the international pathway until there is still room to grow domestically.
Before each game day there will also be dedicated training: structured skill games, 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 situations, and age-appropriate offensive and defensive automatisms. There are plenty of development opportunities across many age groups here at home, but my league is designed to provide supplementary, regular competitive experience.
My goal is for the players to compete consistently, to strive to win, and to keep improving. There will be statistics, live streaming, video analysis, and personalized mentoring.
We will also support families: transportation, supervision before and after games, a study room or video feedback, and full care at tournaments. For those who want it, a day-camp format will also be available.
Competitive situations and performance-based ice time matter - I want to reward and motivate the players who go the extra mile!
