On May 8th, the Kisstadion in Budapest hosted the first stop of the U10 selection tournament series. The program’s goal was to evaluate players within a unified professional framework and to kick off a long-term, performance-based selection process.
MAC participated in the tournament with two teams, while four IHP57 teams also took part in the field. The event began with a joint draft practice, and after the initial rounds, players took part in a continuous re-drafting process - giving them the opportunity to prove themselves in multiple team environments and varying game situations.
Player evaluations were carried out jointly by the coaching staff, based on performance in both practice and game settings. Alongside current form, development potential, hockey IQ, and attitude all played a key role in the decision-making process.
The selection process is part of a multi-stage, ongoing system that will continue in the rounds ahead. Every player will have further opportunities to prove themselves and compete for their spot.
The core principle remains unchanged: selection based on performance. Outstanding performance can earn a stable position, yet the rankings are dynamic and will continue to evolve alongside each player’s development.
Registration remains open, as the program’s goal is for every player to receive feedback and development opportunities across multiple sessions within a unified professional environment.
IHP57’s technical leadership is building a long-term development system in which the U10 age group operates as part of a deliberate, structured youth program. The goal is a unified selection and development model where performance, growth, and consistent professional assessment determine each player’s progress.
